Image Problem uploading on Railo

Hi There

I am running CFFM 1.31 on Railo 3.2 and also 3.3. The CFFM works fine, except for one key area, when uploading an image, it creates it on the server successfully, however the JPEG or GIF file is corrupted.

All browsers appear to do it, I use Chrome in the majority.

It displays it, but all with coloured lines and wrong data through the image, and is unusable.

Ideas?

RE: Problem with Readonly argument

Serendipity at work here.

I too was trying to enable a role based scheme to cffm and ran into the exact same issue. Setting readOnly to Yes actually causes a javascript error (document.getElementById("fsRenameForm") is null). This error breaks the rest of cffm.js causing the blank page you see.

My solution for now and until someone has a better fix is to remove the

<cfif not cffm.readOnly>...</cfif> test at around line 1087. This will obviously fail if readOnly is set to yes and none of the formElements will be created. When I removed this cfif statement, I can see my directory structure but the ability to upload files is restricted as one would expect.

If a better soluition is available, please let me know.

Thanks,

When I set the ReadOnly argument to "Yes", the CFFM application displays no files. In fact, nothing appears after it displays the working directory. This does not happen when I set ReadOnly to "No".

While a workaround is to set ReadOnly to "No", I would like to implement role-based restrictions for my intranet system so that only certain users can delete, upload, etc.

Please advise.

Including CFFM in existing page

Hello,

I am trying to include a CFFM instance inside an existing page but I'm having some directory trouble.

Basically I have a page in /directory/page.cfm which might look something like...

<html>

Something here

<cfinclude template="/cffm/cffm.cfm">

Something here

</html>

Upon doing this it tries to render cffm.cfm from the current working directory and presents an error like:

"Fatal error: resource bundle C:\path-to-webroot\directory\cffm.properties not found. "

This makes sense but is there anyway I can do an include and have it look for the cffm required files in the proper location?

This is probably a coldfusion knowledge gap on my part and not directly a CFFM issue but any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

An unrelated question but if the license holder reads this which I'm guessing they might. Is it ok to modify and/or distribute your code as part of a bigger project? What about if we decide to make it a commercial project? I just want to make sure that if your code is distributed I fully comply to your licensing and of course recognize your work and effort.

Thank you for your time!

RE: Image quality on resize

Hey everybody,

Thanks a lot for imageCFC, for us its a practical bridging for image resizing until we move to an up-top-date CF server this year.

I have found another approach than Stefan's bluring method which i'd like to share.

As a read the definition on the bicubic interpolation method of java I realized that it only uses the 16 closest points of any point to recalculate the values when resizing. Now when the start image size is very different from the targeted image size (e.g. for thumbnails), this interpolation completely fails in terms of quality.

What I've tried is to resize the image step-by-step. What would be logic to me would be dividing the size by half on every iteration, but interestingly I got the best results by reducing the image size by 25 pixels at a time... Now when you start from a 1000 pixel image, thats a lot of iterations and should not been done on the fly/online, but with some kind of pre-calculated image store. You also have to make sure to keep jpeg compression to 100 on all the iterations exept the last (where you choose your target compression).

Hope this is helpful to anyone.

Cheers,
