Take a gander at this Rick

http://www.offkeykaraoke.net.

I read your about page and it was errie...read like my experience...except that my wifes name is Doris and we moved from Williamsburg Va to Florida (because of work). I too started out as a printer...attended the New york school of printing and majored in Graphic Design. Graduated back in 79.

Anyway..back to blogCFM. I've taken the liberty...really hope you don't mind, of making some changes to how some things are done within the app...Taking advantage of Word Press themes for example. Lots of neat themes for word press out there.

Once a theme is installed (manual right now...i will automate when time permits) there is a setting in the admin now that will let the admin choose the theme to use.

Made some other changes to the structure of the app so now most of the templates are no longer in the root.

Anyway...again, hope you don't mind me making the changes...just works better for me that way.

Keep up the great work.

hey nice looking blog! Hard to believe it's blogcfm! That's definately one of the nicest implementations of my blog that I've seen!

Was it pretty easy to be able to implement wordpress themes? That's pretty cool.

Thanks.

It took a bit of work. Had to rip out all the existing style classes and replace them with the Word press classes.

But now, if I want to use a different WP theme its just a matter of uploading the new themes stylesheet and graphics, registering an entry in the db...and done (as long as the themes designer used the same classes). Otherwise its just a matter of renaming the classes used in the stylesheet so they match whats being used in the code. Not really a big deal now.

Did you make any/many other changes to the code besides the theme support? That might be a worthy contribution to the project, if you were willing to share.

A few. Added seperate meta description and meta keyword fields to the db also. Also modified the above template so that it could handle exending the meta description with the post title. Added flags to the db to allow for turning pods on or off. Big thing though was reorganizing the templates so they no longer reside in the root. Only the index, subscription, confirmation...and a couple of others are still in the root. All the others are now in a template directory.

Also have it set up to allow for distint blogs based on the subdomain (needs some additional work on that one on the admin side).

once I finalize a few of the remaining items, I'd be happy to contribute.

Also have it set up to

I know this thread is a little old, but that would be an awesome contribution. I would love a simple way to change the theme!
