scaleX() for making thumbnails - Best Settings? Posted Thursday, November 23, 2006 at {ts '2013-06-19 15:02:00'} I've been using imageCFC for a couple of projects, largely because I like how easy it is to set up (no server-side install) and also because it's simple to add a <class/> definition into Fusebox 4.x+ so I can use it in any fuseaction as needed. My problem comes when trying to use the CFC to make a thumbnail image from a larger original version. In image editing software there are settings you can apply to help get the best possible quality from the thumbnail, such as 'bicubic' or 'nearest neighbor'. I haven't seen these kinds of options in the arguments you can pass the CFC for scaleX or scaleY, and as a result my currently generated thumbnails are very choppy looking and aliased, not nearly as smooth as I can make them when doing so manually. Do you have any hints on the best settings to use in your CFC so that thumbnails or other size reductions look the best? TIA! Mike |
