RE: Grayscale jpeg turns pink Posted Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at {ts '2013-05-24 11:36:00'} Tim, I've been looking into this.. but the original image that I downloaded from your link (which is no logner available) wasn't actually a grayscale image, I loaded it up in photoshop and it was RGB color - albiet monochromatic. What was the source of the image? When I loaded your image into photoshop then saved it (with a different filename), CF had no problem manipulating THAT image. Rick Rick Root

RE: Grayscale jpeg turns pink Posted Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at {ts '2013-05-24 07:35:00'} I ran into a problem like this when I was writing an article about creating a captcha generator using java graphics libraries. Transparent areas of the image were turned pink after certain transformations. I forgot the exact nature of the problem, but it had to do with alpha channel processing. I found an old thread that I had marked when I was debugging my code. Maybe it will help you. The url is: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=665585&messageID=3896629 Mahalos, Rob admin wrote: Tim, I've been looking into this.. but the original image that I downloaded from your link (which is no logner available) wasn't actually a grayscale image, I loaded it up in photoshop and it was RGB color - albiet monochromatic.

RE: Grayscale jpeg turns pink Posted Friday, July 13, 2007 at {ts '2013-05-24 16:24:00'} images.zip I have some better examples now. Thanks for looking at this. I don't believe this has to do with transparency - since the source is JPEG and the destination is JPEG and all I'm trying to do is resize. Also, I am nearly a noob at Coldfusion although I have over 7 years experience with PHP so I am by no means new at the web dev game. I appreciate the time you've spent. I'm attaching a zip file with the original (in this new case) and the resultant resized image with the colors messed up. Thanks again! - Tim

RE: Grayscale jpeg turns pink Posted Friday, July 13, 2007 at {ts '2013-05-24 22:28:00'} Thanks Tim... I'll be at the lake most of the weekend so I probably won't have any time to look at this further until Monday or Tuesday (Monday is my first day back to work since July 3!) Rick Root

RE: Grayscale jpeg turns pink Posted Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at {ts '2013-05-24 19:56:00'} photoshop_message.gif Well, I tried to open that image in photoshop and I've attached the message that photoshop gives me. Unfortunately, that kind of stuff is WAY beyond my limited comprehension of graphical image formats. Rick Root
